Cheerleaders who shine embrace teamwork
I came across this quote from an unknown author today and thought my cheerleading friends might like it: ”Teamwork is the fuel that allows common people to produce uncommon results.”
A cheerleading team consists of individuals with varying levels of skill, talent, and commitment. As an individual, an athlete might shine or he or she might fade way. As a group that works well together, everyone is elevated to a level that can not be reached alone.
Sometimes, there is a tendency for a particular cheerleader to want to dominate the spotlight. When this happens, the whole team suffers and the “star’s” light is also diminished.
A good coach works to encourage and enhance teamwork. Good cheer parents also recognize that sometimes their child must and should step back to allow the power of the whole group to dazzle the crowd.
